IB stands for International Baccalaureate, an international curriculum originated from
Switzerland

IB has some programs that depend on the age of its students.
• PYP (Primary Year Program): age 3 – 12
• MYP (Middle Year Program): age 11 – 16
• DP (Diploma Program): age 16 – 19
• CRR (Career-Related Program)

IB aims to provide systematical education for global students. The curriculum
exposes students to diverse learning aspects as well as encourage student to get
involved in many project activities.

IB is widely recognized as a requirement in many global universities. The IBDP is a
specialized program where students are prepared to enter university.

The grading system has score between 1 – 7 with the following details.
Score Remark:
7 Excellent
6 Very good
5 Good
4 Satisfactory
3 Mediocre
2 Poor
1 Very poor
N No grade

The MYP is a five-year program, although it can be shortened to 2 – 4 years duration
by the schools. The students will be exposed to 8 group of subjects. The MYP is a
pre-stage to DP and is a good preparation to DP as well.
For DP, the curriculum comprises of six subject groups as well as three core elements. The content of subject groups and core subjects are shown in the table
below.

The IB has two levels, which are Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). To be qualified as diploma, students are required to take three HL and three SL courses
from the six subject groups.
